Picture this: You are at Northstar, it's the perfect powder day, and you hit the slopes just early enough to catch fresh tracks on almost every run. Time to kick back with a nice lunch and a comfy chair. But everyone had the same idea as you! And the lines are out the door.
Option B: Hop on the Zephyr lift, and scoot over to Schaffer's Camp, a private facility for members of the Tahoe Mountain Club and their families. You are greeted at the door and escorted to a member-only locker room where you can shed your boots and grab a pair of furry slippers. Hang out by the massive fireplace with a warm drink, or head into the restaurant for a dining experience with "no" crowds and unparalleled mountain views stretching all the way to Squaw Valley.
Welcome to the Tahoe Mountain Club. (And the restaurant at the top of Northstar is just one of many amenities. When I had a chance to experience the club, I began to see the value it offers for Tahoe homeowners who want a "hassle free" vacation experience. in addition to the mountaintop restaurant, members enjoy a locker/clubroom in the Village at Northstar with ski valet and a private shuttle from Old Greenwood, a golf/country club near Glenshire in Truckee that's connected to Gray's Crossing on the cart path. Summer amenities include pools, tennis, fitness facilities and discounted food at Old Greenwood and Gray's Crossing, another country club development near downtown Truckee.)
I'm not an easy sell, but if you enjoy Northstar, and are looking for the enhanced amenity package at Old Greenwood and Gray's Crossing, the Tahoe Mountain Club (with membership fees lower than the HOA fees some of Northstar's townhomes), is an idea worth exploring. Email or call me, and I'd be happy to set you up with a "Member for the Day" guest pass, so you can experience it for yourself!
