Almost 25 years ago, on a flight to Hawaii, my son's father and I challenged ourselves to dream big. We were in our 20s, both working full-time at jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area, and our dream was to someday have a home in Tahoe. Even perhaps a little one.

My Tahoe Donner Housein one of Tahoe's excellent resort communities. There were obstacles (there always are in life), and, like anyone who strives for something extraordinary, we reached the point where it seemed like it would be easier to give up.  But we could not have built that home on the mountain without first dreaming it into reality ...
