Originally named "Cornelian Bay" for the red-hued stones found on its beaches, Carnelian Bay is a quiet stretch of North Tahoe sandwiched between Dollar Point & Kings Beach that was a favored landing spot for visitors as far back as the 19th Century, when well-heeled San Francisco residents frequented the health spa here.

Today, Carnelian Bay remains a secluded haven of tasteful waterfront homes and charming cabins reminiscent of "Old Tahoe."
