The Tahoe Donner Ski Hill has long been billed as "the best place to learn," and with good reason. With just two lifts, and a vibrant children's ski program, your little ones are almost always in sight here. From the Magic Carpet, where kids have fun while getting used to the idea of being on skis, to the "snake," a windy terrain-park chute on a little steeper terrain, kids of all ages will find terrain to grow with at Tahoe Donner (click here to read more ... )
Tahoe Donner Ski Hill Condos for Sale
From Beginners to Powder Seekers
My son learned to ski here, and one of the things I like best about Tahoe Donner is the diversity of terrain. Despite having only two lifts, you can always find great powder on the backside of the ski hill, which remains un-groomed for most of the year. It's a bit of a scoot to get back to the Lodge, but, hey, for a few good powder shots, why not?
Cross Country Ski Connection
The downhill ski area also connects to Tahoe Donner's amazing Cross Country Ski Center via a track road near the Lodge. So you can drop off the kids to ski, and get a loop of cross country skating or striding in before it's time to pick them up again. The Lodge is about to be redone into a $25 million gathering spot with restaurant, bar, locker rooms and more. So even if you don't ski, it promises to be a nice spot to spend the morning. You can see the main runs from the Lodge, so you can keep track on the little ones while enjoying a meal or beverage.
Future Appreciation
While some of the single-family homes near the Ski Hill are close enough to walk (or ski out your backdoor if you live on Skislope), the most convenient housing here are the condos scattered around the base of the ski hill near the Lodge. While prices here are mainly affordable (under $800k, even during the Covid buying frenzy), prices might appreciate once the posh new Ski Lodge is built.
