Pinewild Waterfront Condos at Lake Tahoe

Pinewild Waterfront Living

If you're looking for waterfront Lake Tahoe living without the price tag and maintenance of a single family, Pinewild in Zephyr Cove might be worth a look. Thanks to its lakefront amenities, and proximity to the nightlife and skiing that Stateline offers, Pinewild townhomes perform well as vacation rentals.

This gated condominium complex features 135 townhomes set in a bucolic grassy development on the southeast shores of Lake Tahoe. Pinewild was developed in the 1970s, and some of the units feel very vintage mid-Century, while others have been extensively remodeled. Like elsewhere in Tahoe, the closer you get to the water, the higher the price tag.

Don't see one you like here for sale? Don't be surprised. It's not a mistake

Pinewild units rarely come on the market. Our brokerage sold the one pictured here for $3.5M in 2022, and only a handful have changed hands since then. If you are looking for one, please contact me to get on my contact list for off-market properties.

Lake Tahoe lakefront home deck overlooking the lake

Pinewild is one among dozens of Lakefront condos on both side of Lake Tahoe. (Explore various options in the Guide to Tahoe Lakefront condos below.) One thing many buyers don't realize is that you don't have to actually own ON Lake Tahoe to enjoy lakefront privileges and amenities like a pier, buoy field, boat launch, and beautiful sand beaches. There are neighborhoods scattered all around of Lake Tahoe that offer beachfront access as part of an HOA or other access.

Incline Village is probably the best (and biggest) example of this. While it's not an HOA (it's technically a special district within Washoe County, NV), all 3 beaches in Incline are private to Incline property owners and their guests. Glenbrook, a gated community on Lake Tahoe's East Shore, similarly offers a beautiful private beach to its condo and homeowners with a concierge-staffed pier, buoy field, and a 9-hole Golf Course with lakefront dining.

Lakefront Nevada Communities

Many homes that are not "on" the Lake, offer Lake Tahoe access to residents. Incline Village is a great example, all 3 beaches in Incline are private to owners & their guests. Whether you're searching for a true "waterfront" home, or semi-private lake "access," these are 3 communities to explore.
